Well done @c_cld; even I haven't downloaded that latest image yet! But I'm pleased to see those are really spiral arms, as I'd suspected, and not a collisional ring.
I've been having great fun retweeting the Hubble_Live account whenever it starts a new observation for this project, and then following up with a screenshot of the new data afterward. I entered the SDSS IDs as the target names so that everyone would have an easier time looking up further information on what we're observing.
This is a "Snapshot" (aka SNAP) observing campaign, meaning they fit whatever targets they can in between other guaranteed targets in order to maximize the science observations Hubble performs. We don't expect all 121 targets to be observed. Typical SNAP observation rates are around 33%, so I'm hoping for somewhere between 30 and 50 targets. So far we've had 6 targets positively scheduled* or observed, so we're on track at the moment.
Love these posts!
-Brooke
*Note that in the HST software they will sometimes use "scheduled" when they really mean all the observational parameters are set and it's ready to be pulled from the queue and put into the active schedule. The 6 targets I mention above have been moved from being schedule-able into being actually set to be observed.

Sadly it is, statistically speaking, likely to just be a relatively faint foreground star that didn't show up well in either the SDSS or DeCALS imaging.
I have not checked the ATels or other supernova source catalogs, however! It would be pretty cool if we happened to image a supernova in some useful way.

@ vrooje, Will you try to measure the BH mass by applying its correlations with velocity, luminosity or spiral arm pitch angle of the host galaxy?
Do you think possible to deproject this last galaxy to face on and determine its arms pitch angle using an image like sketched below:

Hi c_cld,
Thanks for posting the wonderfull Hubble images and comparison with the SDSS images.
On the last galaxy SDSS J114116.15+215621.7; is the large 'X' shape across the entire galaxy an optical artifact due to the brightness of the nucleus? I'm asking because the lines do not seem to look like the usual bright and perfectly straight spikes as seen in other images / surveys.
Thanks!

by c_cld in response to Ghost_Sheep_SWR's comment.
All these AGNs have a very bright central spot which gives diffracting spikes in HST images.
We have to scale and stretch raw images, and rotate one or the other when comparing to other surveys. That process could add some defects.
My last one is HST rotated North up, but @vrooje did a tweet with SDSS image rotated to align with HST (orientation: -62.918):
here for comparison

It's really useful to see these in different stretches/orientations!
I'm keeping a Storify of tweets from Hubble_Live, the HST images, and the responses I get. It seems complementary to this thread so I hope it's okay if I post the link here to keep these together: https://storify.com/vrooje/hubble-telescope-imaging-of-galaxies-in-public

I'm wondering if this one is going to turn out to be an early-type interloper... will have to wait for the bulge-disk fit to say for sure, but if it's a disk-dominated galaxy it's quite remarkable for how featureless it is! (Except for that bit of dust... but some early types have that too.)
We've just got 2 more today and I'm waiting for them to show up in the archive before I tweet all of them out. 😃
