Galaxy Zoo Talk

Mindblowing

After spending a few hours on this site classifying astronomical objects I found myself thinking of them as just random blobs of dots floating around in the sky but when I stopped and had a good think about what was going on it really hit me that each of these blobs is a galaxy, containing sometimes billions or even trillions of stars slowly revolving around, occasionally a Supermassive Black Hole at their centre.
It really made me appreciate just how small and insignificant we are in the grand scheme of things, sitting on this little rock revolving around what is in essence a very small star with any of these countless galaxies potentially having another person or being sitting around staring at the sky and thinking the exact same thing.

I'm just wondering if I am the only person who feels this way or am I thinking about this way more than I should be?
