Does anyone know why NED is set to search within 1.0" of the reference RA, Dec, rather than the 0.1" that we used to use. Can it be re-set by the Zoo?
90+% of what is shown is irrelevant.

It searches within 1', not 1". (1 arcminute, not arcsecond).
That's quite big, but it depends on what your goals are - if it's to match the object in the center, then you'd want something within a few arcseconds. Other potential uses are to find nearby galaxies or serendipitous objects in the same frame, though. The deep fields do tend to be more crowded than most due to the sensitive imaging.
If there was widespread agreement, it's a parameter we could potentially change; otherwise, you can always do the same restriction yourself by changing the value in the URL. For example,

Sorry about the mios-type.
I personally think it too crowded. I was looking at an image and wanted to cross reference so checked NED. I got 519 objects listed!! m0.1' would have given me a dozen, which should be enough.
So yes, please can we change it.
