New Russian Satellite Mayak

  • Budgieye by Budgieye moderator

Maybe only a first magnitude object, but will flash as it tumbles as it passes by. It will only be orbiting several weeks.

The satellite will test an aerodynamic braking system that could
de-orbit satellites without using an engine, and it comes equipped
with reflectors to provide data on the satellite's visibility and
    distance

I suggest heavens above for watching passes. Since it is in a decaying orbit, it will be tricky calculating orbit changes. It will appear to move faster as it descends.

    I haven't seen it yet.
