Are those hotspots . What is causing the iregulkarity in shape ? is the edge on spiral in play ?

yes; probably #starbursts. It looks like a #spiral with one arm;there's a smaller #satellite or #dwarf #galaxy with a starfield or #stellar debris tidally drawn to the large galaxy.
The #edgeon has no bulge is too far away to represent an overlap.Posted
