Galaxy Zoo Talk

Suddenly every picture pixelated?

  • Turtle_looking_at_stars by Turtle_looking_at_stars

I joined this site yesterday and was classifying pictures, however today i log in and suddenly all pictures I see are extremly pixelated, even pictures i have seen yesterday clearly are now pixelated.

Does anyone have the same problem or knows what the problem could be?

I have classified 20 images and they seem to same to me. Can any computer savvy person else guess what the problem might be?

Not a computer savvy person here :

That is very weird indeed ! Everything looks normal on my side as well. How do the images look like here on Talk ?

Have you tried using a different search engine? I am using Chrome / Vista and images are normal.

Have you tried a different search engine? eg Internet Explorer? Anybody else having a pixellation problem? esp with Firefox? It helps to narrow down the problem.

I have Windows 7 and Firefox as well, but I have no problem with pixelation.

Tx Cecilia. I've got Windows (something) and I'm using Chrome and no problem whatsoever.

Maybe if you clear all cookies and your cache ? (these are just the most basic thing that I can think about)

Before we call in an IT person, can you post an image of what your screen looks like?

What version of Firefox do you have installed, and recent update numbers.

Tried clearing all the cookies and the cache already, didn't help,

Also i have version54.0.1 (32-Bit) of firefox installed.

I think the image looks a bit fuzzy. . Are the words also fuzzy?

Posted image looks pretty normal to me, fuzziness of the words might simply be because it is a screenshot.

Ofcourse there are usually different surveys we classify, and they all have their own unique 'look'. If you aren't aware of that an SDSS image might look quite low-quality in comparison to DECaLS or GAMA images.

I agree. This image looks like a perfectly normal image to me.

Thank you for the replies, and the words, seem the same on my monitor as in that image, I guess I will try to look at the picture on another computer to check if it looks more pixelated on this computer.
