Messy Merger?

Looks like the merging pretty much wiped out the discs assuming they had them at one point...

Is this a merger? or a voorwerpje? What is red at these redshifts?

Some PhotoZ of these galaxies, remember that they can be wrong and can have huge errors. They don't seem to help, the Photoz are inconclusive.

The red colour may come from oxygen as a OIII object (a pea) or from hydrogen, as a quasar or voorwerpje (AGN cloud)

other galaxies nearby are normal colours, so not an artifact.

(Budgieye pointed me this way)
Interesting candidate - from galaxies where I've seen spectra, that purple color usual means strong [O III] and H-alpha at redshifts near z=0.1 (so H-alpha falls in the i band and the r band misses strong emission lines). Alas, even with DR12 there are no spectra at all in this multiple system. The question remains of whether the emission lines are driven by star formation of an AGN. Putting this on the candidate list for any opportunity to get more data...
