What is the green ring?

I learned about Voorwerbs in class recently, but it doesn't look similar to the one that we saw. This one seems perfectly round, like a donut hole. Can anyone explain?

It's most likely an artifact, an internal reflection of a bright object within the UKIDSS camera perhaps. It could be from the AGN at the center of the galaxy itself (unlikely though, I think), or of the very bright star off to the left in this SDSS image:
Here's an SDSS image showing the AGN fairly clearly (unfortunately, there's no spectrum):

looks like some strange blackhole or maybe a star or galaxy covered by some object passing infront of it maybe. Who knows
