Ring without a centre

  What could that ring under the galaxy be?

  As there seems to be nothing in the SDSS image of the same field (see below, similar scale, different orientation), my guess is that it's an artifact, likely a ghost (internal camera reflection, of a bright star):

  Obviously, nothing in the SDSS image... Is it possible that ring being an "exclusive" IR object?
