Remember these are images in the infrared (they see all kinds of different details), but maybe you are on to something. That said, I have no idea who to contact ! , sorry On the other hand, it could be a star forming region in the galaxy, that is only just barely visible in the optical image..

I have realized that the orientation of this image is not standard, differently from the one used by Skyserver (north-up - east-left) ... that's why is difficult to compare the two images: but I suspect that the star might be the one that is actually visible in the SkyServer, south edge of the galaxy
