the color threw me . I need an explanation please

It's near a bright star (see below), so the sky is mottled and a weird color. The blue in the interacting galaxy is due to intense star-formation; this is a starburst galaxy, with lots of very bright, hot (so blue) stars and intense 'nebular' emission (the huge vertical spikes in the spectrum, also below).
Don't you just love astronomy? The universe is such a weird place! 😄 😮
