Stars?

  • CptBowmore by CptBowmore

Are these different stars or things like small galaxies? Might be a stupid question but I'm kinda new to this

    Welcome to Galaxy Zoo, CptBowmore!

They are all #stars, and also all #artifacts.

This is a #poorqualityimage, from a field which contains a lot of artifacts. IMO zooites have provided enough clicks for the SCIENTISTs (that's a title) to decide there's no scientific value in serving this - and related - images up, especially to novices such as yourself (where it nearly always causes confusion rather than enlightenment). However, for whatever reason, or combo of reasons, you and I and lostlens et al. will keep getting them for some time to come, it seems.

Here's a zoomed out view, centered on AGZ000176m, with the Field boundaries marked; the poorqualityimage fields are obvious (all those green stars!):

    Happy hunting! 😃

    Hi CptBowmore

Yes all these objects are foreground stars from our galaxy. Sometimes the software gets confused ! That is where we come in ! All your clicks are very valuable ! So, keep them coming !

    Thanks for classifying ! 😄
