Visual inspection: my eye says that larger galaxy has a yellow nucleus, the smaller has an more orange nucleus. So the larger galaxy is probably closer.
I looked up the PhotoZ, and the software thinks that the larger galaxy is closer, though there is some overlap of error.

zErr 0.022283The blue spiral arms seem to go in front of the distant galaxy, and are not distorted.
So I think overlap. #overlap
Actually, it seems to be kind of overlap that scientist Dr Keel would like, an elliptical shining through the arms of a spiral.

has Dr Keel has put it on his overlap list? http://www.jstor.org/stable/full/10.1086/669233 from his publication
Galaxy Zoo: A Catalog of Overlapping Galaxy Pairs for Dust Studieshttp://www.jstor.org/stable/full/10.1086/669233
No, this list has only dr7 (numbers start with 78.........) and stripe82 numbers.
Well, maybe it will be on his next list.

Ah, now I see the relevance of overlapping galaxies. They are important for studying dust.
Thanks for your information, Budgieye 😃Posted
