Supernova?

Could this be the start of a supernova?

It looks like a star-forming area. Can check if it is a supernova by going into examine, and NED.
Some examples of supernova http://talk.galaxyzoo.org/#/boards/BGZ0000001/discussions/DGZ0000wrb?page=4&comment_id=53d8b997db90c7673f00101d

Thanks. I would go into examine and NED, if I knew what I was looking for. The examples look the same as this. How do you tell a star-forming area from a supernova? Thanks again!

NED and SIMBAD will have it listed as a supernova, if it is a registered supernova. Most are.
Appearance: I would look for
bright
clean edges (ie not fuzzy)
a pure sort of colour, pure dark blue or pure greeny blue. Star-forming areas are light blue, so that tells me that there are many colours in there. Lots of colours make white.
Saying that, you can't really tell a supernova by its appearance. You need a spectrum.
