Would this starburst galaxy evolve into a blue elliptical?

"Current thinking is that most if not all elliptical galaxies may be the result of a long process where two or more galaxies of comparable mass, of any type, collide and merge." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliptical_galaxy
I can't see spiral arms clearly, yet there are lots of blue star-forming areas. Might this be on its way to becoming a blue elliptical? and from there to be a white, then a red elliptical?
Since there seems to be nothing in front of the nucleus, it is still a disk galaxy?
