possible supernova

  When I classified this edge-on spiral I spotted what could be a supernova in the left edge of the spiral. I am not, of course, talking about the very bright object above the spiral!!
  Would anyone care to comment on this? Does anyone have a different opinion?

  I am not a supernova expert (in fact I would class myself as a beginner) - but I will see if I can find anything online. Hopefully one of the resident experts will be along to have a look and comment...

  Not a supernova expert either, but since that green spot is only visible in the r-filter I'm thinking artifact. Sorry !
