Are they part of the galaxy? It sure looks that way. Starformation is a bit denser in their regions. Maybe something of interest?

Well, they are certainly not artifacts as they are visible in several bands.
Personally, I am more likely to go with foreground stars - there are several other similar coloured objects in the field that are quite easily identifiable as stars.
Perhaps someone else will have a look and post an opinion 😃

I agree, Capella05, I zoomed out the Skyserver image, and yes, there are more orange-red stars 😃
