I would like to save that one too.Posted

There are two pink spots in the middle. So there are two active nuclei, with their black holes actively feeding.
c_cld posted it in the forum http://www.galaxyzooforum.org/index.php?topic=6629.msg524569#msg524569

There is a spectrum on NED and z=0.05.
Hot hydrogen at 6896 nm so is an active nucleus. NED say quasar and
Hot oxygen peaks at 5207 and 5258 nm
At z=0.05 hot hydrogen is pink, and hot oxygen is purple. Examples are here

So the bright purple blobs must be hot oxygen, so star-forming and supernova regions. They are a starburst region, and we call them "purple peas".
