Is that a red giant?

  This is my first visit to Galaxy Zoo. Are the small red dots in the halo of the galaxy artifacts? I take it the large red dot at 4:00 is a red giant?

  The tiny red dots in the galaxy are indeed noise. The larger red dot at 4 is a foreground star from our galaxy.
