Noise?

  So there are red green and blue speckles all over this image. Is this noise? What about the especially large red and blue blotches over the central galaxy?

  If it isn't noise there sure is a lot of colorful stuff floating around!

  I see both noise and some artifacts here. In many of these images the noise will be coloured blue, green and red, because noise is random so it won't be in the same place in each separate image for each filter. That's much of what I see. But the brighter the galaxy, the less dominant the noise becomes in that part of the image. So the bright, pure red and blue over the bright galaxy is weird. I'd say those are definitely artifacts!

  Could be a cosmic ray that didn't get subtracted correctly, or a defect in the camera chip, for example...
