Irregular spiral pattern. Lot's of star formation.

There appears to be two bright sources forming the bar. Either there are 2 cores merging or a very thick dust lane is obscuring the centre of the bar. I have held the belief that bar galaxies hold 2 cores and this is why they have more prominent arms due to the gravitational waves. Of course I have no evidence or training to back up that assumption, it just seems logical to me. Am I imposing my own view on this image? Probably so, but the irregularity of the arms and abundance of star formation suggest there has been some event which has shaken this galaxy up.
