Do you think the galaxy to the right is a neighboring galaxy to the center galaxy, or are they actually really far away from one another? I have neither enough information nor enough skill in observation to say.

I would say the galaxy on the right is more distant - the more distant a object is the more redshifted the object is.
Having said that, always remember to only classify the object directly at the center, in this case the blue LSB** irregular 😃
