supernovae

I have been lucky to have observed confirmed supernova on two occasions through my telescope (Galaxies M51 in 2011 and M82 in 2014?) I am assuming that the bright spot that is seen "inside" AGZ0003d79 is a star in the foreground, but if thats the case, it is hard to distinguish that from supernovae occuring in the galaxy based on what I have seen.
So how do i confirm such a feature?

Hi Starfog
The bright spot is most probably a forground star from our galaxy. To determine if it is a supernova in the galaxy, you would at least need two images (before and after). So in the vast majority of these cases it is safe to assume it is a foreground star.
And, wow, lucky you to have seen two supernova ! 😄
