Could it be a binary star system

  • Marcel_R. by Marcel_R.

If you zoom in you can see that there are toround objects.
Could it be that they are a binary star system?

Sorry, I don't know what happened, but I had a completely different picture.

Here, the central object is a fuzzy galaxy. The object at 10 o'clock is probably a foreground star from our galaxy.

    Happy hunting !😄

    I mean the "fuzzy galaxy"
IF you zoom in, you can see that the bright points (central galaxie) is made of two. This made me think about that it could be not a Galaxy but a binary star system

    Hi Marcel,

That is definitely not a star system - single / binary or otherwise 😃

It is a galaxy consisting of billions of stars. As @ElisabethB suggested, there could be a foreground star 'overlapping' the much more distant elliptical galaxy - giving the appearance that the two objects are connected, when in fact they are separated by billions of light years. As the galaxy looks quite settled, with no distortions and we have foregrounds stars in the image with similar colouring / appearance - it is quite likely. NED has it listed as a galaxy cluster - not entirely convinced 😃
