No Illustris galaxy? Or some sort of failure of the pipeline?

Myself, I can see only the SDSS background, no Illustris simulated galaxy visible.

Is this because the simulated galaxy is (entirely) dark? Or because, somehow, the simulated galaxy wasn't 'married' to the SDSS background image (i.e. some sort of pipeline failure)? Or something else??

Has anyone come across similar Illustris images before?

yeah i've had about 3/4... i classify as star/artifact.. but theres nothing there so thats the best fit for me..if im wrong please inform..

Yeah, that's what I did too. I hope Kyle will drop by tomorrow and give us some insight into these sorts of Illustris sims ...
