Can someone explain what is going on here?

  Sorry if I'm asking this in the wrong place, but this is interesting. It looks to me like two other galaxies (at 3 o'clock and 7 o'clock) are orbiting the big one while bleeding off stars. They remind me of comets.

  Any astronomers care to comment on it?
