Seems to be a star and galaxy very close together... is this the right assumption?!

Hi Ktdizzy and welcome to the Zoo
The central object (which you are supposed to classify) is a disturbed spiral galaxy. The bright round object, top right, is indeed a star, but it is a foreground star from our galaxy. So the galaxy and the star only appear to be close together. They are ver, very far apart.
