  Gorgeous tidal tails! I wonder if that little smudge off to the side at 3 o'clock is a part of the interaction or is an overlap?

  The main galaxy ( Mrk 868 ) has z 0.034.

  The 'smudge' has no spectrum - the estimated redshift is photo z 0.3128 zErr 0.1316. So I suppose that means that the 'smudge' is not a part of the interaction.
  Must be an overlap much father away.
