Overlapped

I believe it's a star, but it is oddly box-shaped, which leads me to believe that another body is overlapping it.

The central object is defintely a galaxy. See the comments to the left.

This is an odd shape, quite rectangular. Is the light being lensed by another object?

No lensing - looks like we have a dustlane and a very strong #x-shaped bulge. Certainly very interesting 😃
