What is with all the Colours???

Hi hugo_hamilton18 and welcome to Galaxy Zoo
The weird coloured stripes are optical artifacts. And they make it somewhat hard to classify the galaxy n the center of the image.
How did you classify it ?

So is it better to classify it as an artifact, or as what you can spot? I put the smooth one, even though there's a tail on the top (dunno the actual names for things) which could lead to the possibility of a spiral.

It is still a galaxy, so classify it. There are no right answers, I would say smoooth. If people give different answers, it means that the galaxy is hard to classify, and that is information in itself.
An artifact is something which is not real, like a cosmic ray hit,
The colours are messy, but this is rough data, not tidied up for public distribution
