A ring

I don't know if I'm the only one, but when I examined the galaxy more thoroughly, I started to see what looks like a ring around the outskirts of the galaxy. Can anyone clarify what this is, or if it's even anything?

The thin ring is an artifact. These images are heavily edited. They are taken apart, cosmic rays erased, bright areas darkened, all rather amazing, but it leaves marks behind.
