Blue spot

    There is an unusual blue spot at the right it shows up on the skyview,sdss and the sdss finding chart. There is a massive disturbance in this QSO, I wonder if the blue spot has something to do with it.

    This galaxy is in Keel et al.'s (2012) sample of candidate hosts of "giant AGN-ionized clouds," aka "voorwhatevers". According to Table 1 in that paper it was originally posted by @ElisabethB, presumably in the old GZ Forum.

    It was also in the GZ Quench project sample, which suggests that its spectrum may have some characteristics of a transitional galaxy.

    Yes, it doesn't help when we have so many different IDs for the same galaxy. I would prefer a stick a pin in the galaxy in a star map, like in Google maps.
