Tidal debris

In reference to the top of the galaxy.
Does this seem like a regular tidal debris situation for a galaxy, or could there be another explanation for the direction of the debris (eg. black hole or merging of another galaxy)?

It could be a galaxy fragment closer to us than the target galaxy. It is a different colour, and it may be part of the blue irregular galaxy off to the left.
