Supernova? / artifact

  This green dot in DECaLS looks like a supernova. There is nothing in SDSS.

  The green dot in the galaxy at 5 o'clock is an artifact. Possibly a cosmic ray hit.

  Thanks! They're tricky these cosmic ray hits, the way they imitate something you are hoping to spot.

  Then first question I ever asked in GZ was about a little green thing, which was a cosmic ray hit. My second question was about a "supernova" that I found.

  It is pure green, square, with sharp edges in cutout from DECaLS browser

  Yes, one must zoom in quite a bit to notice the odd square shapes and sharp edges. The trouble is that the enlarged pixels may make any object appear squareish...
