Pink dot

On the sdss of this galaxy, way down in the right corner of the photo, is a very bright pink dot. Its listed as a star M6 on its spectrum. The spectrum says red dwarf. Its obj.Id : 1237655742946541740 at Ra:228.17110 Dec:4.72743. I am curious if it is a red dwarf or not. I know the spectrum for a pea which its not, but it sure looks like one. Thanks BM

You may have discovered a cataclysmic variable star, not listed as such by SIMBAD This would a red dwarf star with a flare event. The spectrum was taken at a non-flaring time, which is why there is nothing usual in the spectrum.
Spectrum taken modified Julian date 54259
Less likely to be a red dwarf orbiting a white dwarf, and the red dwarf was blocking the light of the white dwarf (which is much smaller) when the spectrum was taken.

colours in neighbourhood are OK
SDSS dr7
The colour is that of a normal red dwarf. But it is the same date as dr9 image? 5.20762125E4 Images must have been processed differently.

Here are some posts from the old forum. There were more stars targeted in our images then.
