Blue patches - of varying morphology, size, brightness etc - are common in SDSS images, in my experience. Some, like this one, are found in what look like interesting galactic environments (e.g. AGNs, merging galaxies, hearts of rich clusters); however, without spectroscopic redshifts it's impossible to say whether they are mere chance alignments.
