I venture this is a clockwise spiral galaxy. If the picture is rotated 90 degrees to the right it makes more sense. There is a picture from SDSS below which perhaps shows the spiral structure better. There's a hint of a bar in the centre and almost certainly a Super-Massive Black Hole. The bright bluey-purple blobs within the galaxy are places where a lot new stars are being born, for whatever reason; perhaps a result of the galaxy moving and spinning over time? It is about 400,00 light years away and has featured in two GZ studies before. It is a strong hydrogen emitter and has been observed by the Arecibo radio telescope. I hope this helps a bit.
