Spiral Arm

    It looks as if the spiral arm twists one way and then switches directions, especially in the inverted image. Does anyone else see this?

    Hi darkenvy54 and welcome to Galaxy Zoo,

    The galaxy in the centre of the image is a barred two-armed spiral. Both spiral arms go counter clockwise but the bottom spiral arm is partly hidden by a foreground star from our galaxy. If you think the star away you'll see a slight disturbed spiral galaxy.
