Could someone please explain what is going on in this photo? Just curious.

Hi darkenvy54 and welcome to the Zoo
Here you have two galaxies interacting. It's a gorgeous #merger. The central one also has an impressive dustlane.
Happy hunting ! 😄

There has been a reported supernova in the neighbourhood. When I tried to retrieve the objects from the paper to get an exact location my device seems to be unable to retrieve such a huge amount of objects 😕

What are the right online databases to search for reported supernovae?

I'm not sure what you are looking for. Almost always, the image that we see from DECaLS or SDSS has been taken before or after, with a few exceptions. Sometimes, it is listed in NED, but there is no supernova listed for this galaxy. Not to say there hasn't been one, NED just hasn't listed it yet. i don't see one in SIMBAD either.
There are supernovae links..
4.1 Supernova in Talk, Forum, SDSS The Legacy Survey: Stripe 82, and Galaxy Zoo: The Hunt for Supernova. BBC Stargazing Live Snapshot Supernova http://talk.galaxyzoo.org/#/boards/BGZ0000001/discussions/DGZ0000wrb?page=4&comment_id=53d8b997db90c7673f00101d

The linked NED object apparently doesn't, but it is actually NGC 5759 which does have a reference in "nearby supernova rates etc..."
I wanted to get the exact coordinates of this referenced supernova and then check if there can be seen anything at that exact spot in SDSS or DECaLS. Merely fun and excercise really.
EDIT: nvm, the reference is to this galaxy as a sample galaxy for supernovae detection method, not a specific supernova which it hasn't.

co-ordinates for image are 14:47:14.85,+13:27:23.12. I can't see a similar location on your list.
Maybe it is an unnamed UV source, 4th in this NED list?

Nope, ive edited my post after finding out this galaxy is referenced in the supernova rate paper as a sample galaxy, but is not included in the list that contains actual supernovae, they tricked me into it!! 😃
