Bright yellow area underside of core

This galaxy is referenced as AGN; is the small yellow area under the bulge an artifact? Can't see it in SDSS but then again it is also very small and faint.

It looks like half a yellow star, doesn't it? It has sharp edges, so it must be an artifact, but I haven't seen one like this before.

Yes it does look like that, if artifact then haven't seen such before. The big foreground star to the left doesn't bode well for anything other than artifact 😕 ,still weird.

Some more here, must be artifacts but oddly shaped and in both data releases of DECaLS.
