Using one's imagination to see what may not be there
-
We're told to give our best guesses, and for fuzzy images such as the one at the left, that's always been difficult to do because of so few clues. But this image, at least IMHO in inverted light, I can envision if not actually see two disk galaxies passing through each other at near 90 deg angle.
Now, I'm confident that readers will chalk this up to my (1) seeing too many science fiction movies; (2) sitting at the keyboard for WAY too many hours; (3) being very close to having to be carried out of the office Christmas party after trying to kiss all the secretaries. Well, all except Elsa. NOBODY kisses Elsa.
But my imagination and I see what we see (or want to see). The question is, what do others see???Posted

Hi RickinFlorida,
Difficult to see because of the artificial redshift, but that is ofcourse the purpose 😃 . Just click on 'Galaxy Zoo Examine' and then 'SDSS Skyserver' (and then on the image of the galaxy)
