Does the spiral arm pass over the nucleus?

Do I see dust lanes in front of the galaxy? Or is it wishful thinking?

Difficult to say. Surprisingly the DECaLS SDSS image is slightly better for viewing the spiral arms than the original SDSS image. The original SDSS image displays the dustlanes better.
But definitely something weird going on with the spiral arms, almost as if a part of the upper arm is counter-winding. Interesting puzzle..

I can definitely see more than one dustlane in this interesting Markarian galaxy, but unfortunately it's not a 'double dust' 😦
