Foreground star?
-
The central galaxy NGC 1267 has a note in NED that considers the bright object to be a bright foreground star. But every catalogue focuses on the bright object as the center of NGC 1267.
Could there be a misunderstanding? Either it is a foreground star and not the center of NGC 1267 and catalogue positions are wrong, or it is not a foreground star which would make it even more interesting since it isn't centered on NGC 1267.

Hmm can't make anything other from it then a foreground star AFAIK, guess the catalogues are wrong with center position.
And something completely unrelated but fun with exploring Aladin, see stars move 😃 . SDSS9 + POSSI images, first moving star to the right has a proper motion of 0.264 arcsec/year according to SDSS - USNO, movement around 6 arcsec so the POSSI plate should be around 22~23 years old. Amazing
