Looks like a merger. NED labels this Gpair. Galaxy Pair I guess. The left nucleus seems to be obscured by something. Perhaps dust. There is also something bright across the dust just below this nucleus. Gas?
Are these ellipticals? Any idea how many elliptical mergers have been seen here?
