spiral glaxies

  • TanyaJimenez by TanyaJimenez

The picture shows the galaxy from the side, and therefore this is an "edge-on spiral" type of spiral galaxy. It is recognized as edge-on spiral galaxies because bright central bulges can be observed. Approximately 77% of most perceived galaxies are spiral galaxies in the universe. Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is an example spiral galaxy.

Hi TanyaJimenez and welcome to the Zoo

Your classification (edge on) is definitely a valuable one. But you could just as well call this a barred (maybe spiral) galaxy with a noticeable bulge seen at an angle.

Just answer the questions as wel as you can !

    Happy hunting ! 😄
