Red glow and red beam

  Hello everyone! I was really drawn to this photo and was just curious as to what the red glow and red beam could be at the bottom of the picture. Thanks in advance!

  Hi EA1,

  This is a simulated galaxy, to make it appear more realistic they added real background / foreground objects around the simulated galaxy.

  In this case they also added a foreground star just out of the image frame, because they are relatively bright these will always cause bright spikes in the image. They are not real but optical artifacts.
