Purple beside nucleus

Is the purple bit and area of hydrogen gas that is being hit by radiation from the nucleus?
SDSS DR9

Search NED, can't see anything specific about AGN clouds or voorwerpje.

It doesn't seem to be a "purple pea".

What is purple at z=0.5?
https://talk.galaxyzoo.org/#/boards/BGZ0000007/discussions/DGZ0000ulp?page=2purple [magenta] is blue+red
Hot hydrogen is red. The nucleus is not red, so the colour of hot hydrogen is not coming from the nucleus, but from the purple spot.
We are not getting a good view of the nucleus. We are just seeing the yellow stars around the nucleus. One of the NED references talks about dust. Not sure if it is an AGN-illuminated cloud

Nice!
Yes little info, only info I can find so far is starforming + UV source + infrared source.
What a difference between SDSS DR7 and DR9 btw, DR7 makes it look more like starforming, magenta covering >50% of the galaxy it seems.
