The galaxy is very blue in DECaLS and Pan-STARRS as well.
SDSS
white and blue divsion is parallel with field lines in SDSS

But there is a blue area in DECaLS, maybe a starforming area?

Thanks!
The white and blue division is just as obvious in DECaLS. It would be, I suppose. DECaLs DR3 residuals shows an interesting (and amusing) image with just one white and one blue dot.
Could the division of colours also be caused by the galaxy being a binary system? The galaxy is in a catalog of binary compact objects in NED. That might explain why the starforming area is mostly on one side.
It's a pity that the galaxy is so fuzzy. It would have been very interesting to have a closer look. The colour is stunning !

You might put it on the Objects that need more research https://talk.galaxyzoo.org/#/boards/BGZ0000004/discussions/DGZ0000ycq
