Masking of area close to bright star

The are no ObjIDs in the masked area. The bright star affects SkyServer values, so it is easier just to leave them out than have incorrect values.

This doesn't exist in the sdss database it tells me. It look like an #irregular with #starformation. It looks like part of another galaxy??

You are right. I typed ra, dec into SDSS DR 13 and got this image:

I found out that this is UGC12700 or NGC7715 and the other galaxy is off the photo to right is UGC12699 or NGC7714.

It is too close to a bright red star underneath, the whole area is masked. Continue in discussion

Welcome rumtna It looks like an edge-on galaxy but has no nucleus, and looks disturbed.

This is an edge on disturbed system, with several notable star-forming spots. Likely suffered from a recent interaction with another system.
