Possible multiple objects

  • CyberPaddy66 by CyberPaddy66

I am trying this out for the first time and am not sure what I am looking at. This looks to me to be the remains of multiple galaxy merging due to the extra blue objects around the edge of the disk. Does anyone else think this or am I seeing something that is behind the galaxy in the picture?

Welcome CyberPaddy66. There will be many opinions about what is happening. The blue blobs are starforming areas probably the result of a past merger, as you suggest. I can't decide if the part on the right is a broken arm, or a galaxy slightly behind.

Hi Budgieye, thanks for the welcome and the conformation that what I thought was a merger is probability just that, I will keep an eye out for further star forming areas like the blue areas in future pictures. That area on the right looks to me to be a small spiraling set that might be pulling away from the main disc, possibly the remnant's of a galaxy trying to reform afterwards buy I may just be imaging that.
